Step 1: Register with D181

DISTRICT REGISTRATION
Walker School is a part of District 181 and all families need to register with the District. Current families still need to register on Skyward. Click here for step-by-step instructions for returning families.
  • Click the button below to begin online Registration
  • Next, take proof of residency and the child’s birth certificate to the D181 Administration Office (115 W. 55th Street).
  • D181 Preschool is available at Oak School (not Walker School). Click HERE to learn more.
  • You will also need to pay all school/district fees on the Skyward website under "Fee Management". NOTE: This is different than the PTO fees.

Step 2: PTO Fees

  • Click the button below to pay via Membership Toolkit
  • NOTE: Access the online directory via MembershipToolkit and the affiliated app. 

Step 3: Submit Family Contact Information to PTO

  • New families can submit family contact information by clicking the button below.
    • Your information will be shared in the school directory (you can opt to be excluded).
    • You will receive email communications (you can opt out of this if desired).
    • To sign up for text alerts, text to 810-10 and type @walker120
  • NOTE: Returning families can update contact details at the MySchoolAnywhere site. To add a new student (even if you have a student at Walker already), use the button below.

Step 4: Order School Supplies

You have two options for getting school supplies for your student:
  • The District has provided a list of supplies and you are welcome to purchase the supplies on your own.
  • Or, click the button below to purchase school supply kits. Enter your child's grade (for 2023-2024) and name. 
    • If kits and art portfolios are ordered before 6/1, receive a 12% discount with free delivery to school. 
    • After 6/1, kits will be offered only at full price and will be shipped to your home (standard shipping rates will apply).

Step 5: Sign Up to Volunteer

The Walker PTO is as strong as its volunteers. Consider joining a committee or two. It's also a great way to meet other Walker families.

  • Whether you have an hour here and there or want to do more, we have a variety of options for you.

Step 7: Buddy Families

At Walker School, we have a tradition of welcoming our new students and their families by partnering you up with an existing family.
  • Please fill out the attached form and return to the school office. New families will be contacted by a buddy family coordinator in mid-August.
  • You will be assigned to a current family who will reach out to you and help answer any questions you may have. 
  • If you move to the area during the school year, we will match you up as you join the school.
